Thirty people met up for the first time in 18 months, due to Covid lockdown. We booked the Wasdale Head Inn for the weekend of June 11th – 13th 2021.  No rules for a walk but 25 of us set out for Scafell summit, followed by Lord’s Rake, Scafell Pike, Great End and a descent via Sprinkling tarn to Wasdale. Only 6 completed Lord’s Rake because accompanying dogs were frightened of the steep scree. Remarkably, Scafell had 3 people on the summit but 400 m away Scafell Pike had 300 people! Only the chasm of Mickledore separates the two tops. Chris, Ed and Ben finished off by climbing Great Gable.

Great to be together again, anticipating a possible expedition to Annapurna in October.
